What emotions or ideas spring to mind when you look at this image? Why does/doesn't it appeal to you? Could you connect this to the topic of your blog? How?
This picture could be related to my blog because I can relate the complexity of the knotted material to the complexity of mother nature. My blog is about growing flower bulbs so I can also relate the many colors in the knot to the variety of colors that flowers come in.
Psychology is my first immediate association with this image. It reminds me of the "mind" as it relates to the multiplicity of cognitive functions simultaneously arising, yet inexplicably linked. This image does in fact appeal to me, although upon further inspection you can tell the toy has been used. I could connect this image to my blog, using it as a metaphor for cognition, perhaps as a tool for describing doublethink.
This reminds me of controlled chaos, all the pieces of this "ball" are intertwined and don't seem to have a beginning or an end. It appeals to me because it just looks crazy, if you were to bounce it you wouldnt be able to even start to predict where it would go. I think I could connect it to my topic because cars are like controlled chaos, so many moving parts, and things happening all the time. There are constant mini explosions in the engine, multiple fluids, cables, wires, and air all working together as one.
when i look at this, it reminds me of becoming interconnected with others. I could use this for my blog couponing. when couponing you have to rely in others to help you, for example if you missed a paper with coupons, one could network with someone to arrange to get one for you. Or when you go online to print coupons, one must rely on someone putting them on the website. Couponing is all about being connected.
Curiosity. It gave us the enlightenment, and it drives many of us to learn from a young age. The provided photo evokes a sense of curiosity, of wanting to know exactly what is going on. The tangled mass of colored ribbons begs to be touched, played with, tossed and understood. The connections to my blog are quite easily drawn, this small little gem is interesting, but at the end of the day understanding it leaves me no more the individual than I was at the beginning.
